This memorial site is dedicated to Derek Guthrun.

Derek Guthrun was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and friend and has been sadly missed by everybody who ever knew him. However, he lived a full life and raised his family to love and appreciate everything and everybody around them. He cherished his family and I remember the day, several years ago, when he told me that he was a very lucky man to have such a close family, and also that he was glad to have been around to see all of his grandchildren growing up. He added that it was a pleasure that was only granted to a very lucky man, I've never forgotten those words and I hope that I will be as well blessed as he was. He passed away with his wife, all of his daughters and his son around him. He certainly was lucky, but fate knew better than to let Derek die alone without bidding farewell to his family. He was a proud man with decent principles and high morals, I was privileged enough to marry one of his daughters in 1984. I miss him immensely but am proud to have called him 'dad' whilst he was here. Wilfred, was known as Derek by all who knew him, and he always will be.

Thoughts

Dad we had Anthony's celebration of life on Friday. It was a perfect day, everything was how Anthony would have wanted it. We had a tub of uncle Joe's for Anthony's last journey in memory of you and Mum. We even mentioned you both and showed your photos on screen. The air literally turned blue at the wake and all his family and friends were singing 'You are my Sunshine'. It was emotionally lovely. Everyone said the service was perfect. I know you were there with us all. He can now rest in peace 💞💞💞. I have comfort in knowing he is with you and Mum and he will be loved so much with you both Love you millions n trillions 😘 💞 ❤️

I hate this day 21st and 22nd June. The day you were taken from your loving family. I remember you going visiting Anthony with Mum this morning. You kept saying 'it should me me not him'. You said you had an headache (little did we know that headache took you). I watched you leave the hospital grounds, that was the last time I saw you conscious. Later that night you were found by Mum and Wilf and were blue lighted to hospital. You were put on a life support machine, you survived for a few hours. You Wife and 6 children were at your side and had to say our goodbyes to you. 15 years ago, I remember it all.😪😪😪 I miss you so much Dad. See you on the ICE 💔💔💔
